History
Our Journey Through Nature
The Mulu Eco Challenge began its journey in 2017, marking our very first step into organizing an endurance event deep within one of the most remote and pristine rainforests in the world. From logistics to transportation, from weather uncertainties to limited connectivity, every element tested our resilience. Yet, standing at the start line with hundreds of passionate participants, we knew it was something special. The inaugural event was more than a race—it was a shared adventure into nature, culture, and community.
In 2019, the second edition returned stronger and more refined, building upon the lessons learned from the first. Despite facing the same challenges of terrain, infrastructure, and communication limitations, the spirit of the event shone even brighter. What truly set the Mulu Eco Challenge apart was its deep connection with the local villagers—who welcomed participants, supported logistics, and became an integral part of the experience. The event created meaningful interactions that went beyond competition, fostering respect for nature and appreciation for local culture.
These experiences are why the Mulu Eco Challenge remains one of the most memorable events we have ever delivered. It pushed boundaries, forged lasting friendships, and proved that great events are built on purpose, not convenience. This is why we are excited to bring the Mulu Eco Challenge back in 2026—to reconnect with the land, the people, and the spirit that made it truly unforgettable.
